Wands (Oracle) 5.10 : Discover Period Names

You can discover period names in much the same way that you can discover segment values. Values can automatically fill the next Excel cell, or range of cells, in a desired direction like down or to the right, populating the periods from the calendar as it is configured in Oracle E-Business Suite.

Make sure that you enter the starting period name as text by first formatting the Excel cell as text or entering the period name prefixed by an apostrophe ‘ e.g. ‘Jan-03. If Excel interprets the value entered as an actual date e.g. 01/01/2003 then discover period names will not work.
